On June 27, 2023, the Canadian Government invested $6.8 million in the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS) to provide pre-arrival services for new immigrants. This program helps newcomers make informed decisions, including employment preparation, to better integrate into their new community. The investment is part of over $60 million in settlement funding across Canada, which helps newcomers apply for recognition of their foreign credentials and links them to federal and provincial settlement services. In total, 15 organizations will receive funding for pre-arrival services based in British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and internationally.
