Traditionally, the Atlantic provinces harmonize the date of effect of any minimum wage rate increase to April 1. This year, all four provinces will introduce new minimum wages. The minimum wage rate is indexed to the province’s consumer price indexes, rounded to the nearest five cents. The new minimum wage rates will be:

New Brunswick will increase to $11.75/hour (+5 cents per hour)
Newfoundland and Labrador will increase to $12.50/hour (+35 cents per hour)
Prince Edward Island will increase to $13.00/hour (+15 cents per hour)
Nova Scotia will increase to $12.95/hour (+40 cents per hour)
